This blog was created by me, Andrew Reid (full name Andrew Stuart Reid). I have no connection with the Andrew Stuart who created SudokuWiki.
I wrote a C program to create sudoku puzzles in 2012 and have used it to create most of the sudokus you can see here. It creates minimal puzzles so if you were to remove any of the clues, you would immediately produce a sudoku with multiple solutions. Most of the puzzles it creates are easy. To create a tough sudoku I usually have to generate around 10 puzzles, throw 9 of them away and publish the tough one left over. To create a diabolical sudoku I might have to generate around 50 puzzles and to get an extreme one I might have to generate over 100. I use a Linux shell script to run the C program and grade each puzzle using Hodoku running in batch mode. Once I have chosen a sudoku to publish, I use SudokuWiki to verify the grade and produce the image you can see on the blog posts. Most of the puzzles have a link to SudokuWiki so that you can work on them online if you wish. There is a separate link to let you see the answer. I changed the blog's URL some time ago so some of the links to the answer do not work. I am slowly going through the blog correcting these broken links. In the meantime you can use the Blog Archive or the Newer Post link to see the answer.
Our younger son gave me a file of several thousand sudokus produced using a Javascript program which he wrote himself. Each time I use one of these it is made clear at the start of the post.
In addition to sudokus, the blog also has chess, futoshiki, gogen, hidoku and other types of puzzle.
