I published a book called Tough Sudoku Volume 1 in June 2022. It contains 400 puzzles. I wanted to make them large print so each puzzle is 11 centimetres square. There are two puzzles on each page so the book is printed on A4 paper, which is quite big for a sudoku book. It will fit in a brief case but not in a handbag.
If you would like me to make volume two smaller, please comment below. I could print one puzzle per page instead of two. This would allow me to publish the book on A5 paper, which is half the size of A4.
The book is available on Amazon. You can preview and/or purchase it by clicking on the Buy my book on Amazon link which appears on every page of this blog.
You will see a picture something like this (the exact layout will depend on what type of device you are using):
Click on the Read sample box and you will see the first 18 puzzles. The Copyrighted Material message at the top and bottom of each page was put there by Amazon to stop you plagiarizing the content. It does not appear in the paperback version.
If you are good at solving tough sudokus and are buying the book for yourself, copy some of the puzzles from the preview onto a sudoku pad and try to work them out. All the puzzles in the book have a similar level of difficulty so if you can solve the first few, you will be OK with the rest of them.
If you cannot solve tough sudokus but want to buy the book as a present for a friend, search this blog for posts entitled Puzzle nn from my Sudoku Puzzle Book. These posts have puzzles which I have copied from my book. Each one has a link called Step by step solution of puzzle nn. In both cases, nn is some number above 18. Click the link. This takes you to a page which looks like this:
Click the
button repeatedly and note down some of the solving techniques shown in the box at the bottom of the screen e.g.
Ask the intended recipient of the book (in a subtle way) if they understand these techniques. If they do, the book would be a suitable present for them.
